I’m Voting for This Guy…
Well, I would vote for him if he ever ran in a US election.
Koichi Toyama, a former candidate for Tokyo governor, and ex-con (he did a 2 year stretch for crimes against the government) appeals to me for several fundamental reasons.
While I’m no advocate for Anarchy, there’s something refreshing about a political candidate who can honestly describe their policy plans:
“I have no interest whatsoever in political reform or any kind of reform
“I do not have a single constructive proposal!”
as well as a politician who openly discloses his feelings toward the the voting public…
“Gentlemen, I despise each and every one of you”
Beyond simple honesty, Koichi is also a gifted orator. In his speech, he sums up the democratic process in one eloquent sentence:
“An election is simply a festival for the majority”
And finally, in addition to his being diametrically opposed to the religious right, which I’m committed to thwarting, there’s something irresistibly charming about a candidate who ends his political effusions with a waving middle finger.
I may actually just write him in.
